The survey noted “a changing mindset about boomerang employees, someone who left an organization, for whatever reason, and then rejoined that same organization at a future date, and the organizations they once left.”

How much have attitudes changed? According to the study, nearly half of all surveyed HR professionals noted their company had a policy against rehiring former workers, but now 76 percent are more open to the practice. Talented workers are always needed, especially in the IT world, where a skills gap is detrimental to an organization’s efficiency and subsequent success.
